Hotel Bookings

NewHotels4U is a new concept for a Hotel Bookings site, designed to orient the visitor during their hotel booking quest, because most travelers won’t know the city of their destination or which area of their destination is better for the purpose of their tip, we will try to manually describe each city and each city area.

Bookings can be placed online at any time through our booking engine, where we will look for the best prices in more than 90,000 hotels around the world.

These are the cities we have described so far:

New York City Attractions

New York Mets Tickets

When thinking of ideal places to retire, one has to include New York even though the rents are high, and the homes are expensive. However, if you choose the suburbs or areas in Manhattan where housing is affordable, you can live your retirement years in what is referred to as “the Big Apple.”

While New York receives millions of visitors a year, you can still enjoy the city that almost never sleeps. Let’s review some of the highlights of New York, and the benefits of choosing it as an ideal place to retire.

New York has the finest restaurants in the world, and in every corner of the city. For example: Little Italy offers the best Italian fare; Manhattan has cuisine as diverse as its culture; Chinatown offers the best delicacies; Queens has waterfront which have been highlighted in food magazines; and Staten Island, Bronx and Brooklyn boroughs have restaurants which offer you the finest and most regularly visited restaurants in every category imaginable. In addition, one can spend a day at the South Street Seaport and enjoy shopping and dine in wonderful restaurants there as well.

New York has more museums that most cities, and among the more famous are the Metropolitan Museum of Art; Museum of Modern Art; the Whitney Museum; and the Guggenheim Museum, to name a few. In addition, the most famous attractive of all is Central Park. Filled with lush greenery and trees; paths for cycling and running; this park is renowned as the most beautiful and well kept park in Manhattan. Moreover, on a wintry day, just after a snowfall, the scenes within are reminiscent of a Currier and Ives postcard.

With so much history in Manhattan alone, you can spend hours upon hours exploring all of the areas which are not only historic, but engage in the many stories this city has to tell. You can take a ferry boat ride to visit Ellis Island, which has been completely restored, and visit the Statue of Liberty as well.

New York Giant

If you love performing arts, you will love New York. Broadway is the “Great White Way” in which entertainment abounds. Musicals, plays, and thousands of theaters throughout the five boroughs are always offering the best entertainment anywhere. In addition, Lincoln Center is home to the ballet and opera; Carnegie Hall offers concerts; and Madison Square Garden hosts major concerts and sports events as well.

There is no other place on this planet that offers as many shopping areas as New York. Every borough has hundreds of stores and malls in which you can spend a day and still not see everything single shop. New York also has flea markets; the Fulton Fish Market; and the New York City Terminal Market, where you can buy fresh vegetables and fruit daily.

Living in Manhattan can afford you the opportunity to use the subway or bus systems to get around town, without having to worry about taking a car. Queens is only 45 minutes from Manhattan by car, while Brooklyn is a bit closer, and Staten Island and the Bronx are approximately 15 minutes away by car.

Retiring to New York is not just a place to live; it is an adventure unlike any you’ve ever experienced. It is filled with businesses and street vendors; parades and holiday celebrations for all ethnic groups; it is home to St. Patrick’s Cathedral as well as many other famous Churches, and Christmas week you can stroll along 5th Avenue and look at the incredibly beautiful window displays at all the famous stores such as Tiffany’s, Macys, and others. After which, you can sip a cup of hot chocolate at Rockefeller Center while watching skaters do their thing on the rink just out side your restaurant window.

Yes, New York is an ideal place to retire. It doesn’t matter if you live in any of the five boroughs; you are never far from where the action is. New York, New York – as the song says, will make you “want to be a part of it!”

These are a few preparation ideas to get the most from your Southwestern United States food tour.

Have a Sumptuous Appetite
The optimal way to do justice to any culinary vacation is to have a big appetite. What’s the purpose of paying for the opportunity to taste the best culinary delights of a specific area or culture when your stomach can’t accommodate more than a bite?

Of course, having a big appetite doesn’t mean denying yourself the day before.

Just make sure you don’t eat too much the day before your vacation. If possible, take a pill to ensure your stomach’s certifiably empty for the food fest ahead.

Prepare for the Heat
Hot is a word often associated with the Southwest in more ways than you might think.

First, a majority of the dishes of Southwest food are especially spicy. Chimichangas, nachos, taquitos, stuffed peppers, chile relleno, chili con carne, and salsa are just a few of the popular dishes that could get you hopping mad out of the restaurant with burning taste buds. If you’re not good at eating spicy foods, make sure you have a small bottle or jug of iced water with you at all times; there may be times when you just can’t wait a second longer to cool your mouth off.

Second, Southwestern states are not particularly the coldest areas of the country. The climate in this area, especially in Arizona and Texas, can be quite stifling in its heat. You can’t beat Arizona vacations. But be sure you’re dressed comfortably in cool, comfortable clothing. Wearing a cap or sun visor as well as a pair of sun glasses can help shelter you from the heat.

Heat exhaustion and heat stroke are always a concern, so again, having an ample supply of water with you at all times is necessary.

Prepare for the Heat
Speaking of the heat, there are also certain characteristics of the weather that you might have to watch out for. Mosquitoes are a nominal but irritating problem, but one that a mosquito repellent can often address. Rainfall could also be a cause of trouble, but not if you come
ready with a raincoat and umbrella.

Clothing
Since we’re on the topic of clothing, make sure to ask your tour organizer if you’ll visit any place with a requisite dress code. Knowing what to dress can also help guarantee that you pack light for your Southwest US trip.

Bring a First Aid Kit with You
Vacation organizers always have first aid kits with them, but there’s no telling when you’ll find yourself lost and separated from your group. Thus, it would do you no harm to have your own first aid kit with you.

Now, if you’ve considerable experience traveling, you probably already have a first aid kit packed with your bags. There are, specifically, extra things you could add to your kit in consideration of “special dangers” you might encounter during your Southwest US tour.

If your vacation includes a trip to the desert, antidotes for snake bites and medication for other kinds of bites (remember: scorpions and spiders can cause harm, too!). High altitude sickness or acute mountain sickness (AMS) is also a problem if your culinary tour includes a short but challenging mountain hike.

Double Check Everything
Lastly, review your travel checklist a few days before you depart for your trip. Call your tour organizer to guarantee that everything’s ready in their side as well.

The state of Arizona has so much to offer and now with Tucson Airfare being affordable in the shoulder and off-peak seasons you really should come and discover the state. You certainly want to tour the Grand Canyon with the glory of nature showing you just how patience and time can erode something into a true thing of beauty. Or you may want to visit some of the outstanding galleries the state has to offer with the rich history of the Native Americans, Hispanic culture and western culture all available in different locations.

This is a great way to discover your Phoenix attractions. The Heard Museum in Phoenix is a must “visit” for anyone interested in the heritage of the region. Here you will be exposed to some of the best in traditional and modern American Indian art. There are 10 exhibition galleries that include 5 long-term and 5 rotating exhibitions with two different locations for you to tour.

While you are touring the Phoenix area you may wish to tour Pueblo Grande Museum which is an archaeological site museum and repository. The goal of the museum is enhancing the understanding of prehistory, history, and ethnology of inhabitants of the Southwest. The museum is situated at a 1,500 year-old Hohokam village ruins. You can study reproductions of the prehistoric Hohokam homes when walking along the ruin trail. At the site is also one of the last remaining intact Hohokam irrigation canals. This is a fantastic piece of Hohokam history.

A few hours to the southeast, you will find wonderful Tucson travel. Travel on over to Tombstone where you can see the Old West. Tombstone was known as “The Town Too Tough To Die,” and is the most infamous of Arizona’s historic mining camps. This region produced millions of dollars of gold and silver during a 7 year period. When you are touring Tombstone you will have the chance to see Boothill Graveyard, the old Tombstone Courthouse and see many of the residents dressed in period clothing.

Outside of Tucson you may want to visit the Titan Missile Museum which was home to one of the Titan II Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles. There were 18 Titan II missile sites located at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson. The Titan Missile Museum is the only Titan Missile site that remains intact; all the others were destroyed. You can go on a guided tour that takes you into the launch control room with a simulated launch and then go on through the 200 ft tunnel for look at the Titan II missile. It’s an incredible tour, be sure to make time to stop here.

Travel on over to Yuma and tour the Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park. Here you will be able to tour the prison that housed 3,069 prisoners, 29 of whom were female. The prison was last opeartional in 1909 before the prisoners were relocated to a new facility. Today you can tour the prison and look at the front gate that is so familiar to anyone that has watched western movies.

Cruise ships are a fun and engaging way to see numerous ports of call, enjoy a variety of activities and travel through beautiful regions. Cruise ship travel is, by nature, markedly different from any other form of vacation. So, you need to plan accordingly.

From packing to medical considerations, preparing for a cruise vacation goes beyond the basics of swim trunks and guide books. To learn about how best to prepare for a cruise vacation, keep reading for great tips on everything from packing your suitcase to warding off seasickness.

What to Pack on a Cruise Vacation

Ultimately, what you pack is going to depend on your cruise destination. An Alaskan cruise will require different clothing than a Caribbean cruise at the height of summer. That said, don’t let land temperatures fool you.

Particularly during the winter months, some cruises (like those leaving from L.A.) can be quite cold. Regardless of the forecasts on land, always pack a wind-resistant jacket and at least one set of clothes that will allow you comfort up on deck when things get chilly out at sea.

You’ll also need proper identification and proof of purchase to board a cruise ship. These will be required at every port-of-call, so pack your papers (including your health insurance) in a water-resistant envelope that’s small enough to carry with you if you plan to leave the ship.

Medical Considerations

You will most likely need travel health insurance for your next cruise vacation. When purchasing travel insurance, try to find one that’s geared specifically toward cruises and the legal intricacies of international waters.

Secondly, pack any needed medications. You may even want to pack extras or a spare if you intend to go to shore. For example, an asthmatic may want to pack one inhaler to carry in a pocket and another backup inhaler just in case.

Most cruise ships have a medical clinic and doctor or health professional on-board the ship, but this is typically a stopgap measure, not a full-proof backup.

Finally, if you’re prone to motion sickness, you can prepare for your voyage with basic ginger root. An herbal remedy, ginger root has been proven to help with seasickness while avoiding the side effects common with many pharmaceutical motion sickness remedies. Herbalists recommend taking the ginger root starting a few weeks before you actually leave on your cruise.

What You Should Leave Behind

Always leave behind a full travel itinerary and emergency contact information with family and friends. Most cruise lines offer an emergency number that can be used by family and friends in case they need to get in touch with you urgently.

Wine tasting is not a sport and not a hobby… It is an experience. Many choose a wine tasting tour as a modern way to spend holidays, as wine tasting tours usually include going to the country side, where one can enjoy ambience, relaxation and good company. This tends to be a physically and mentally rejuvenating experience. Depending on the continent and country, wine tasting tours are sometimes located on the most beautiful beaches, then other times inland and in hills, where grapes are growing all year round.

One might think that full appreciation of a wine tasting tour will benefit only true wine lovers, but after a third glass we can most certainly conclude, that everybody will blend in and feel great. It is best to start with local wine tours and then build up to wine tasting vacations in more distant territories. Article by Montagu Accommodation

For wine tasting beginners or if going abroad, it is best to take a guided tour to places where wineries are located. These tours usually include renowned and well-known wineries and guided wine tasting sessions hosted by professional wine experts. These sessions can be an exceptional eye opener for the novice, but also for the experienced wine enthusiast. One gets to taste a wide variety of wines at the places where they are manufactured. Also much can be learned about wine making, storage, food matching and also about history of the wine and wine lovers from local history – especially in Europe where this frequently includes kings and aristocracy.

The best thing is that there is also food served besides wine, and this completes an enjoyable event. Wine tasting tours can go on for hours, and if you attend organized tours – which is an exceptional way to spend your vacation – you get to travel around from winery to winery and learn about new places that often astound you with their beauty.. You also meet new, like-minded people so you can share your findings, thoughts, preferences and tastes. Guided tours include everything already organized – your meals, the wine that go with the meals, your hotel rooms, transportation and lastly the wineries to visit for the tasting sessions. Article by Montagu Accommodation

To attend a wine tasting session you do not need any knowledge as there are no prerequisites. Everybody can attend as sessions are guided, and one learns everything on the way. If you are a complete beginner, it is best to look around and copy behavior of others. This especially includes sipping the wine slowly, keeping it in the mouth for a few seconds, while moving it around all areas of your mouth and tongue, so that every taste sensor comes in touch with it. You can also close your eyes and most of all try to get as much feedback from your sensors as possible – and then compare your findings to what your guide is describing.

Wine tours are not only about wine tasting. Ultimately at the end of every tour you can buy wine that you liked, and for many this is a start of their own private wine collection. Attending such wine tasting session also teaches you a lot about the way the grapes are cultivated and collected, about local folklore, and finally how grapes get processed for the wine. The bottom line – while enjoying these tours you will have the best time ever. After a few local tours you really might consider a wine tour as a way to spend your holidays and after you have returned from your first wine tasting tour, you will probably make a list of all the continents and countries you want to visit to continue your quest for good taste.
